Welding & Custom Metal Fabrication in Rome, GA

Not every metal job fits a category. Fabco Fabrications is a full metal fabrication and welding shop serving Rome, Floyd County and Northwest Georgia. Beyond gates and railings, we build custom parts, frames, brackets, racks and one-off pieces in steel, aluminum and stainless steel, to your drawing, a sample, or just a description of the problem. All welding and fabrication is done in our shop in Cave Spring, just southwest of Rome, where we have the equipment and room to do the job right.

What we fabricate and weld

  • Custom fabrication: brackets, frames, supports, stands, racks and enclosures built to measurements or drawings.
  • Architectural and ornamental work: gates, railings, fences, sign frames and sculpture.
  • Blacksmith and metalsmith work: scrolls, twists and forged-look details for ornamental pieces.
  • Modifications and alterations to existing metal furniture, equipment and fixtures.
  • Repairs welded in the shop: broken welds, cracked frames, bent parts and worn pieces (see repair & restoration).

Here’s how one customer described the range of work: “Jimmy did some alterations to our metal bar stools. Came back to us looking like new with our modifications. He has also repaired a few utility trailers for us that no one in Rome wanted to mess with. He has the expertise and equipment to build or repair anything metal!” (Mary Beth O., Google review)

Materials

We work in carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel and cast iron, and add brass, bronze and wood where a design calls for them. Each metal welds differently. Aluminum and stainless need different processes and care than mild steel, and choosing the right material up front often matters more than anything else in how long a part lasts.

Residential, commercial and industrial

Our work covers homeowners, farms, churches, contractors, businesses and industrial customers. Our facilities total more than 16,000 square feet of combined space, which is large enough for most commercial projects while you still deal directly with the people doing the work. For business and site work, see commercial metal fabrication.

Welding repairs in our shop

Broken gates, cracked railing sections, damaged fence panels, trailer frames and equipment parts all get welded and repaired in our Cave Spring shop, where we have the right equipment, a controlled setting and room to straighten and square the work before it’s welded. Smaller pieces can be dropped off. For gates, railings and fence sections that are already installed, we can come out to look at the job, then remove the piece, repair it in the shop and reinstall it. Call (706) 232-2642 with a description or a few photos, and we’ll talk through what it needs.

How to get a fabrication job started

  1. Send what you have: a drawing, a sketch with dimensions, photos, or the broken part.
  2. We review it, ask questions and suggest material or design changes if they’ll make the part stronger or easier to build.
  3. Fabrication and welding in our Cave Spring shop.
  4. Pickup, delivery or installation, depending on the job.

Where we work

Customers bring work to our shop from across Rome and Floyd County and from nearby towns such as Cedartown and Centre, Alabama. Everything is built and welded in the shop, and larger pieces are delivered and installed on site across the same area. See all areas we serve.
