A driveway gate is the first thing people see when they pull up and the first impression they get of your property, and it has to work every day, in any weather. Fabco Fabrications designs, builds and installs custom driveway and entrance gates for homes, farms, subdivisions and businesses in Rome, Floyd County, Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama. Every gate is built in our shop and fitted to its own opening, columns and grade.

Gate styles we build
Arched and bell-curve estate gates with pickets, finials and scroll bands, often hung between brick or stacked-stone columns.
Solid and semi-private gates with panel or board infill for more privacy.
Ranch and farm gates: simple horizontal-rail designs for long gravel drives and pasture entrances.
Name and monogram gates with a family name, farm name or initials worked into the design or an arch overhead.
Modern geometric gates with diagonal or diamond patterns.
You can see all of these in the project photos below. Most gates are double swing gates, but single-leaf and walk-through pedestrian gates can be matched to the same design. See walkway & garden gates.
Materials
We work in steel, aluminum, cast iron and stainless steel, and add brass, bronze or wood where the design calls for it. Steel is the classic choice for a heavy, solid estate gate. Aluminum is lighter and won’t rust, which helps on long spans and with gate openers. Wood infill set in a steel frame gives a warm, private look. During the consultation we’ll talk through what fits your budget, the look you want and how the gate will be used.
How a gate project works
On-site consultation. We look at the opening, the columns or posts, the slope of the drive and how the gate needs to swing.
Design. We settle the style, height, material and details with you. Bring photos of gates you like.
Fabrication. The gate is built in our Cave Spring shop.
Installation. We hang and adjust the gate on site. If you want it automated, we plan the opener at the design stage. See automatic gates & openers.
Thinking about a gate opener later? Tell us up front. Hinge placement, post size and the gate’s weight all affect which operator will work, and it’s easier to plan for it now than to retrofit.
Where we install
Most of our gate work is in Rome and throughout Floyd County. We also build entrance gates for properties around Cedartown and Cartersville and elsewhere in Northwest Georgia. See all areas we serve.

Frequently asked questions
Can you build a gate to fit columns I already have?
Yes. Every gate is measured and built for its own opening. We check the column spacing, how plumb the columns are, and whether they can carry the gate’s weight before we design the hinges.
Should my driveway gate be steel or aluminum?
Steel is heavier and very rigid, and it suits traditional wrought-iron looks. Aluminum is lighter and doesn’t rust, so it’s easier on hinges and gate operators, especially on wide openings. We’ll recommend one based on the span, the look and whether the gate will be automated.
Can you add an opener to my gate?
We install gate operators on new gates and can look at adding one to an existing gate. Whether an existing gate is a good candidate depends on its weight, condition and hinges. See our automatic gates page.
Do you only do residential gates?
No. We also build entrance gates for businesses, churches, farms and subdivisions. See commercial metal fabrication.
