An ornamental metal fence marks a boundary, keeps kids and pets in, and frames a house or garden without hiding it. Fabco Fabrications designs, builds and installs custom iron, steel and aluminum fences for homes, pools, churches, cemeteries and businesses in Rome, Floyd County and Northwest Georgia. We also repair wrought iron fences. Our shop is in Cave Spring, just southwest of Rome.

Fence types we build
Ornamental picket fences in steel or aluminum: flat-top, spear-top, or with finials and decorative rings.
Pool fences designed around pool-barrier rules, with self-closing, self-latching gates.
Garden and courtyard fencing combined with brick or stone piers.
Cemetery and family-plot fencing and memorial-garden enclosures.
Commercial and property-line fencing for churches, businesses and entrances.
Matching gates: walkway gates and driveway gates built in the same style (see driveway gates and walkway gates).
Iron, steel or aluminum?
People say “wrought iron” for any black metal fence, but most new ornamental fencing is steel or aluminum. Steel is strong and heavy, with the classic wrought-iron look, but it needs its finish maintained against rust. Aluminum is lighter, won’t rust and is a common pick around pools and sprinklers. Cast iron elements such as finials, rings, castings and posts can be added for a historic look. We work with all three, plus stainless steel, brass and bronze accents.
How a fence project works
Site visit. We walk the fence line, check the slope and talk about height, style and gates.
Design. We settle the picket style, height, post spacing and gate locations with you.
Fabrication. Panels and gates are built in our Cave Spring shop.
Installation. Posts set and panels hung, stepped or racked to follow the grade.
Before you build, check whether your city, county or HOA has height or setback rules, and remember to call 811 before any digging. Pool fences usually have specific code requirements.
Fence repair
Older iron fences often have rusted pickets, broken welds or leaning posts. Many can be repaired and refinished rather than replaced. See repair & restoration.
Where we work
We build fences throughout Rome and Floyd County and in nearby Polk County towns such as Cedartown and Rockmart. See all areas we serve.

Frequently asked questions
Is an aluminum fence as strong as steel?
Steel is stronger and heavier. Aluminum is strong enough for most residential and pool fencing, and it won’t rust. For security or high-impact areas, steel is usually the better pick.
Can a metal fence follow a sloped yard?
Yes. Panels can be stepped down the slope or racked (angled) to follow it. Which one looks better depends on the grade and the picket style.
Can you repair my old wrought iron fence?
Often, yes. Broken pickets, cracked welds and leaning posts can usually be fixed. If sections are too far gone, we can fabricate matching replacements.
What’s different about a pool fence?
Pool barriers usually have rules on minimum height, gaps between pickets, the space under the fence, and self-closing, self-latching gates. Requirements vary, so check with your local building department, and we’ll design to them.
